Another angle on the JLC. We tell the children the ladder is to the Teachers’ Rooftop Swimming Pool. Strangely, some of them believe us!
Thanks to Mrs. Corr and our 2010 Year 6s for beginning the planting around the new building and to those involved in the ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ event for continuing to brighten up the surroundings.
On the inside, the open learning space will ultimately be used for Developmental Learning and a Junior Library. The feature wall coloured to link in with the “old building” scheme certainly lifts the feel of the learning environment. New furniture is on the way!
The building has come equipped with the latest portable Interactive Whiteboards for each classroom.
More open spaces will give the Staff more flexibility in their teaching and learning arrangements between the four classrooms.
Additional Staff Office and small group withdrawal/consultancy spaces have also been included in the design.
The kitchenette offers a wet area with hot/cold running water which could be handy and inside toilets behind!!! Absolute luxury.
Sustainable practices have been observed with the large capacity water tank which feeds the toilets and taps.
